An Open Letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Your Excellency,
Distinguished National Chairman,
I write this letter with a heart committed to truth and progress, and with the responsibility that comes not just as a party member, but as one who has served with diligence and conviction. I am Comrade Kingsley Omadoye, a devoted and consistent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Assistant Secretary Emeritus of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
I write not to condemn, but to draw your urgent attention to a painful reality that many of us at the grassroots can no longer ignore. The APC, once a beacon of hope and a symbol of political rebirth in Nigeria, is gradually losing its moral compass and drifting away from the values that inspired millions to follow us.
We campaigned vigorously on the promise of “Change.” We boldly criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for corruption, impunity, internal party dictatorship, lack of accountability, and an overall failure to prioritize the welfare of the Nigerian people. We rode on that wave of discontent, with a manifesto that was visionary, people-centered, and built on justice, equity, and responsible leadership.
But today, with great sorrow, I must state the truth: what we once accused the PDP of doing is now being found within our very own party—the APC. We have inherited and, in some cases, perfected the very practices we denounced. Imposition of candidates, political godfatherism, weak internal democracy, disconnected leadership, and a growing disregard for our founding manifesto—these are now becoming the signature of our party at various levels.
Mr. President, Your Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, this is not the APC we fought to build. It is not the vision we sold to Nigerians. We are gradually losing the trust of the people and the confidence of our members at the grassroots.
I speak as a loyal insider, and as someone who has served this party honorably. I speak for many voiceless members across Nigeria who still believe in the APC but are disheartened by what we’ve become. Our beautiful and visionary manifesto must not remain idle—it should be the foundation of every policy, action, and decision made in our name.
This letter is a plea for introspection and redirection. We must return to our founding principles, uphold internal democracy, reconnect with the grassroots, and govern in a manner that truly reflects the change we promised. Anything less would be a betrayal of the sacrifices made by countless loyal members who fought to bring this party to power.
I remain steadfast in my commitment to the APC and to the Nigerian people. And I am ready—like many others—to work towards the restoration of our core values and national credibility.
