5m Ebonyi Youths To Stage Solidarity Protest For Tinubu's Administration

Two days ahead of nation-wide protest against hunger, about  five million Ebonyi  youths have concluded arrangements to to stage solidarity protests on Monday, for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The peaceful protest slated for Monday, July 29, 2024 would take-off venue, Nkwagu Ugbala ground arena by 10:00am, for onward movement round the capital city of Abakaliki, is targeted at countering the forthcoming August 1 end-hunger-protest.

The youths would come from all  the thirteen local government areas of Ebonyi state, especially Izzi Nnodo youths forum.

Recall that the solidarity protest would have taken place last Saturday but was cancelled because Governor, Francis Nwifuru, who would receive the protesters at the government house, had travelled.

It was gathered that the youths, especially Izzi Nnodo youths forum to embark on the solidarity protest for President Tinubu’s led administration scheduled to hold Monday, 29th July 2024, 

It was gathered that LGA chairmen and other prominent stakeholders in the state have been directed to mobilise youths from their various communities, to come to the capital city en mass for the solidarity protest.

It was further gathered that various non governmental organizations, NGOs, market women/ youths, support groups and human Rights organizations, etc, will be participating in the President Tinubu’s solidarity protest.

Sources said the commissioner of police, Ebonyi State command, Ogbodo Augustina, has declared the readiness/ preparedness of officers of the command to give adequate support and protection to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s solidarity protesters

Speaking, the president of Izzi Nnodo youths forum, Mr. Elom Andrew Chibueze, said the youths of Ebonyi State, especially in Izzi clan don’t want youths to protest against president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that of governor Francis Nwifuru’s administrations in the state.

He called on Nigerian youths to be patient with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that with time, all the needs/ demands of the youths in the country will be attended to by the present administrations led by President Tinubu and governor Nwifuru in the state.

Elom said: “it is our belief and stand, that there is no need for protest as scheduled to hold 1st August 2024. 

“We actually know that things are difficult, not only in Nigeria but also outside the country, things are difficult. We are urging the youths to bear with the federal government, because the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also making efforts to make things work in Nigeria.”
