NDDC Celebrates International Youth Day, With Call to Action

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has ended a 3 day workshop to mark the 2025 International Youth Day in Calabar.

The workshop which was organized in partnership with Ukpai Empowerment Foundation, had as its theme ‘Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation Through Technology and Partnership.

Declaring the event open, the Cross River state NDDC representative Rt. Hon. Orok Duke disclosed that the youths constitutes the workforce of a country any country hoping to have the future right must invest in their youth.

Duke who was represented by the special Administration Barr Ita Bassey Duke stated that the NDDC as a commission, has been very sensitive about youths development hence the reason the commission has been organizing programs to empower and equip the youths.

In a brief remark. the Cross River state director of the NDDC Dr. DNiel Ajunwa maintained that What the world has become a global village where robots can do what humans will sit in the office and do and do it better even.

“It begins with determination from your heart, the NDDC has so many programs which can empower you, get involved and get yourself empowered for the future.

He admonished youths to realize themselves and put their future before them in their thoughts and actions.

Presenting a lead paper, a resource person Mrs. Benita Olayemi said Self realization is a powerful tool for youths, which will enable them to discover their passions, strengths, and weaknesses.

She maintained that the process of self-discovery can help youths identify areas where they need improvement, develop a growth mindset, and cultivate resilience. By recognizing their unique talents and abilities as well as unlock their full potential and make informed decisions about their future.

She urged youths to imbibe the spirit of collaboration with other youths as it allows them to learn from others, share ideas, and build meaningful relationships.
