Member Representing Ikom 1 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly Hon. Samuel Neji Abang, has commissioned a new solar-powered borehole project at Yala Nkum Ward, marking the completion of his pledge to provide potable water across the constituency.

The borehole, located at the Cottage Hospital in Yala Nkum, was successfully drilled after two previous attempts failed to hit water.

With its completion, all 7 wards in Ikom 1 Constituency now have functional solar-powered boreholes constructed by the legislator.

The wards covered under the project are Ikom Urban 1, Ikom Urban 2, Akparabong, Ofutop 1, Ofutop 2, Olulumo, and Yala Nkum.

An additional borehole was also sited at the Holy Family Hospital in Ikom to expand access to clean water for healthcare users.
