C' River NDDC Rep Flags Off Essential Medical Services in Calabar

The Cross River State Representative on the NDDC Board, Rt Hon Orok Otu Duke PhD, has flagged off a five-day free medical outreach in Calabar the Cross River State capital. 

The event which is holding at the Calabar Women and Children Hospital Calabar, aims to provide essential medical services to residents who face challenges accessing quality healthcare.

Rt Hon Duke emphasized the NDDC's commitment to supporting existing institutions and complementing government efforts to improve citizens' wellbeing. He thanked Governor Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his support and Mrs Onari Duke for lending the facility for the outreach.

Patients also receive prescribed medications and guidance on preventive health practices. Dr Abiye Kalaiwo, a volunteer doctor, praised the initiative, saying it's a dream come true for patients and a much-needed programme for Cross River State.

The outreach, which began on November 24, 2025, will run daily until November 29, 2025. Beneficiaries have expressed gratitude to the NDDC and its partners for providing free medical examinations, treatments, and counselling.

The medical outreach offers a range of services, including Dental Care, Eye Care, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as General Consultations.
