A Naval officer, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed that the abduction took place along Oron waterway axis.
The officer said that the gunmen ambushed the ferry in which the passengers were travelling in and whisked them away into an unknown destination.
According to the source, the passenger ferry, which was loaded from Calabar, Cross River, was traveling to Oron in Akwa Ibom.
