Ebonyi State: Day Apkoha Community Honoured Rep Igariwey

December 23, 2025, will always be remembered in the life of Rt. Hon. Igariwey Iduma Enwo, member representing Afikpo North/Reda federal constituency.
It was a day the Amata Okpotokum community in Afikpo North local government area honoured Igariwey for his rural development strides and empowerment programmes that have transformed the some villages in the area of commerce, security and transportation of farm produce as well as boosting night life.

OKPOTOKUM IV, said virtually all communities in Apkooha have benefited from the Rep Igariwey developmental strides including 1.5 km tarred road in Amogu, installation of street lights in both Amata and Amogu, and the construction and support of town halls in Amata and Amogu, giving our people dignified spaces for meetings, celebrations, and community building.
Eze further said the Igariwey's scholarship scheme has opened doors for our children and relieved many parents just as the empowerment programmes have lifted families, created opportunities and strengthened livelihoods.
He said: "The ultra modern public toilet facility you provided for Amata has significantly improved sanitation and public convenience in our community. This thoughtful intervention speaks to your concern for the dignity and wellbeing of our people.
"And now, these motorised boreholes for Amata and Amogu-a life changing project that will end decades of water challenges and improve health, sanitation and daily living.
"Theses are testaments of love, dedication, and a commitment to community development that truly sets you apart. For this, we say thank you, from the depths of our hearts," he stated.
Commending the people of Amata for the honouring him in appreciation of his candid gesture, Rt Hon Igariwey promised to provide
concrete rigid pavement with drainage of the major road leading from the Afikpo-Abakaliki highway to Evo Amata, provide befitting health centre that will include a maternity section, supply of reading desks and chairs to Amata Comprehensive Secondary school and provide VIP toilets to serve Akpoha-igbo and environ as well as promise to take up the Amata Akpoha- Amofia Ukawu "crossing bride " project.
