Akpabuyo Chairman Honoured in Abuja at LOGMA 2025 for Excellence in Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Akpabuyo Local Government Area, Hon. (Prince) Effiom Bassey Effiong, has been honoured with the Nigerian Local Government Chairmen’s Merit Award (LOGMA) 2025 held in Abuja on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Representing the Chairman at the event was his wife, Mrs. Deborah Effiom Bassey, who received the award on his behalf. The award celebrates his remarkable achievements in people-centered governance, agricultural empowerment, infrastructural development, and community advancement.
The Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA) is an annual national recognition that celebrates excellence in grassroots leadership, innovation, peacebuilding, and inclusive governance across Nigeria’s local government councils. This year’s edition spotlighted chairmen whose leadership models have advanced sustainable growth and local transformation in their domains.
As leadership expert John C. Maxwell said, “Great leaders don’t wait for perfect conditions; they begin with what they have and make a difference where they stand.”
That quote perfectly captures the philosophy of Prince Effiom Bassey Effiong, whose actions continue to redefine local governance in Akpabuyo and strengthen the bridge between the people and purposeful leadership.
The recognition once again places Akpabuyo on the national map as a model of inclusive leadership and grassroots transformation in Cross River State.
