Governor Bassey Otu has praised the promotion of Margaret Ochalla to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police, describing it as a deserving reward for professionalism and dedication to duty.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Linus Obogo, the governor said the appointment reflects Ochalla’s years of hard work, discipline and commitment within the Nigeria Police Force.

Otu noted that her elevation highlights her consistent record of service and resilience, adding that her career progression is a testament to merit and excellence.

He said the development is a source of pride for Cross River State and underscores the role of its indigenes in contributing to national growth and institutional development.

The governor further described her achievement as motivating, especially for young professionals striving for excellence in their careers.

Expressing confidence in her capacity to perform in her new role, Otu said Ochalla is well equipped with the experience and leadership qualities needed to enhance professionalism and strengthen policing standards.
