LOGMA 2025: Biase Chairman Emerge Most Outstanding LG Chairman (PROJECT) in C'River State
The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Area (LGA) Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi yesterday emerged Best LG Chairman (Project) at the Local Government Merit Award (LOGMA) which held at the National Merit House in Maitama, Abuja. Hon. Edodi who emerged after a tedious monitoring and evaluation exercise i presented an accolade in recognition of the outstanding performance and transformative contributions to the development of Biase LGA.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Edodi expressed deep gratitude to God for the achievement and thanked His Excellency, Apostle Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, the Governor of Cross River State, and the people of Biase for their trust and support. “I sincerely thank God Almighty for making this day possible. I also extend my gratitude to the Governor and the good people of Biase for giving me the opportunity to serve,” he said.
The Chairman acknowledged the unquantifiable support of his Vice Chairman, Hon. (Chief) Ekuma Ngwu JP, elected officials, political appointees, stakeholders, and the Biase community. “I must commend my Vice Chairman, Hon. (Chief) Ekuma Ngwu JP, and all elected officials, appointees, stakeholders, and the general public of Biase for their steadfast commitment to my administration,” he added.
Hon. Edodi attributed the award to his administration’s focus on good governance, emphasizing key priorities such as expanding infrastructure, improving quality education, enhancing security networks, and promoting economic empowerment programs across Biase. These developmental strides were instrumental in securing his nomination and recognition as Nigeria’s Best Local Government Chairman in Projects. Accompanying Hon. Edodi at the ceremony were his wife, Mrs. Stella Edodi Eyong, Vice Chairman Hon. (Chief) Ekuma Ngwu JP, Hon. Egwu Egeh Umet, leader of the Biase 8 Legislative Assembly, and other key officials from Biase LGA.
In a separate statement, Vice Chairman Hon. (Chief) Ekuma Ngwu JP congratulated Hon. Edodi on also receiving the Most Outstanding LG Chairman (Project) Award in Cross River State at LOGMA 2025. He described the recognition as “deserving and a testament to excellence,” highlighting the Chairman’s visionary leadership and transformative projects. “Your servant-leader approach has catalyzed remarkable progress in infrastructural development, human capital empowerment, agricultural productivity, and educational sustainability,” the Vice Chairman noted. He further prayed for divine wisdom and strength for Hon. Edodi to continue delivering democratic dividends with integrity and compassion.
Rt. Hon. Barr. Alex Ukam, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Biase and Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), also praised the Chairman for his numerous projects across nearly all 11 wards of Biase. "I followed Mr. Chairman on a tour to see these laudable projects and i am impressed that our Chairman is doing well. He described the LOGMA Merit Award as a testament to Hon. Edodi’s selfless service to humanity.
In his part, Onun (Dr.) Emil Inyang, the Member Representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, praised Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi’s receipt of the Nigeria’s Best Local Government Merit Award (LOGMA), calling it a fitting acknowledgment of the Chairman’s “dynamic and selfless leadership, marked by a steadfast commitment to the socioeconomic progress of Biase’s people.” He highlighted Hon. Edodi’s strategic focus on enhancing healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development, noting, “Your visionary initiatives and relentless drive to improve the lives of our community reflect your deep passion for fostering sustainable growth in Biase Local Government Area.”
In a congratulatory message, Barr. Odum-Ijom Ukam, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition in Cross River State, lauded Hon. Edodi for the well-earned recognition. “This prestigious award underscores your exceptional leadership, results-driven approach, and unwavering dedication to impactful, community-focused projects in Biase,” he stated. The Commissioner further emphasized that Hon. Edodi’s outstanding performance has not only garnered national acclaim but also established a new benchmark for exemplary local government administration in Nigeria.
