Wike's Conduct Becoming Embarrassing, Says Gov Fintiri

Adamawa State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Committee, Ahmadu Fintiri, has described Nyesom Wike and his allies' conduct as very embarrassing and insulting.

Fintiri dismissed attempts by Nyesom Wike and his allies to influence the upcoming convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, pledging that no faction would be allowed to derail the process.

He stressed that the unity of the party is more important than personal relationships.

Addressing journalists during preparations for the convention, he noted that party matters must be resolved internally rather than played out in the media. His comments were clearly directed at Wike’s camp, which recently issued a six-point demand ahead of the event.

Fintiri assured members that the committee would deliver a transparent and credible exercise, where all aspirants would enjoy a level playing field. He explained that candidates are expected to purchase forms, file their nominations, and face the delegates in line with the party’s democratic traditions.

Warning against selfish ambitions, he called on PDP members to put the party’s collective interest above personal gain.

“The PDP secretariat for the convention is fully operational, and we are working to ensure a smooth and credible process,” Fintiri said. “I will not place personal relationships above this party. We cannot continue dragging our issues to the media; it is too embarrassing. True party men resolve disputes within, not outside. We will not allow indiscipline or blackmail to derail this process.”

Fintiri added that the forthcoming convention would showcase the PDP’s resilience and readiness to reclaim national leadership despite ongoing internal disagreements.
