Wike Urges States To Adopt FCT, Rivers Rainbow Coalition Model

The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, has urged other states to emulate Rainbow Coalition model adopted in FCT and Rivers State, saying it has fostered political cooperation, peace and stability among politicians across party lines.

Wike stated this Friday Oct 23 during interactive engagement with political leaders, traditional rulers, women & youths in Kuje Area Council, per statement by Lere Olayinka.

“If Nigerian politics can come to this level, we will not be hearing about fighting; we will not be seeing ourselves killing each other,” Wike said.

He said coalition brought APC & PDP together to pursue common political objectives despite differences — based on cooperation & collective decision-making. Candidates under arrangement enjoy support across party lines. Cited ex-FCT Senator Philip Aduda as example.

According to him, same model being implemented in Rivers State. Arrangement intended to promote inclusive representation & ensure office holders remain accountable. Coalition will deliver winning votes for President Tinubu in 2027, Wike said.
