Tinubu Blames Opponents For Hunger, Says They Created Poverty
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has blamed his predecessors and opposition figures for the hunger and poverty currently facing Nigerians, saying his administration is working to eradicate the problems they created.
Tinubu spoke on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Kaduna while defending his administration’s performance and soliciting support for his second term bid ahead of 2027.
He said his government has ensured regular payment of salaries and commended APC governors for delivering on their mandates.
Tinubu dismissed criticisms from the opposition, describing them as failures with nothing to offer Nigerians
“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did. They created the hunger; they created the poverty. We are trying to eradicate it,” the President said.
“To you, the children of our country, this is a promise of a second term: prosperity. You will not regret voting. This is not a matter of hunger; this is not a matter of anger either. Our opponents are angry because they are failures. They have nothing to offer you,” he added.
The President assured that if re-elected in 2027, his administration would deliver prosperity, consistency, growth, recovery and opportunities for all Nigerians.
