UNICAL VC Appoints Prof. Iyorza, Ekpe, Okon, Ngwu, Mensah, Ogri As Pioneer Departmental Heads in Faculty of Communication and Media Studies

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Offiong E. Offiong, has approved the appointment of substantive Heads of Departments for the newly established departments in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.

The appointments form part of ongoing efforts by the university management to strengthen academic leadership and formally operationalise the new departments within the faculty.

Dr. Patrick Edem Okon

Leading the list is Professor Stanislaus Iyorza, who has been appointed Head of the Department of Development Communication, Dr (Mrs) Edemekong Ekpe as Acting Head of the Department of Advertising, Dr Patrick Edem Okon , Acting Head of the Department of Broadcasting, Dr Ukam Ngwu, Acting Head of the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Dr Eric Ogri Acting Head of the Department of Publications Relations, and Dr Eyamba Mensah as Acting Head of the Department of Strategic Communication.

University authorities explained that the appointments formally establish the new departments and empower the Heads to provide effective academic and administrative leadership in close collaboration with the Dean and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
