UNICAL HOLDS STRATEGIC PLAN WORKSHOP FEBRUARY
The newly constituted Strategic Plan Committee of the University of Calabar on the "Strategic Plan 2026–2030 " will hold a three-hour workshop on Tuesday, 3rd February, 2026, at the New Senate Chamber (Prof. Charles Effiong Senate Chamber) by 11:00am.
A letter signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Prof.Uche Amalu, states that the workshop is titled “Conduct of In-Dept Situation Analysis of the Current State of Colleges, Faculties, Directorates, Institutes, Centres and Departments.
He said it will be delivered by Prof. Eka I. Braide, Emeritus Professor of Parasitology and former Vice-Chancellor of the Cross River University of Technology and the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA).
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Offiong Effanga Offiong, who announced the constitution of the Committee on Strategic Plan 2026–2030 during a Senate meeting in January 2026, explained that the Strategic Plan is expected to serve as a road map for management and provide strategic direction for the University up to the year 2030.
According to the letter, Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Directorates, Institutes and Centres, as well as Directors of all Support Units, are invited to attend the workshop.
Participants are requested to come along with documents tracing the establishment and development of their Colleges, Faculties, Institutes, Centres, Units, and Programmes to date, as well as any other relevant materials that will assist the Committee in carrying out its terms of reference.
All concerned staff are therefore enjoined to be seated and to actively participate in this important exercise as stakeholders in shaping the future of the University of Calabar.
