UNICAL Alumni Congratulates Service Chiefs, Seeks Courtesy Visit

The University of Calabar Alumni Association has extended heartfelt congratulations to three distinguished alumni recently appointed as Service Chiefs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In separate letters signed by the National President, Barr. Paul O. Eshiemomoh, and the General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Akpan John, the association congratulated Major General Emmanuel A. P. Undiandeye, Chief of Defence Intelligence; Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of Air Staff; and Major General Waidi Shuaibu, Chief of Army Staff.
The association described the appointments of the trio as a recognition of their “exceptional competence, professionalism, loyalty, and distinguished service to the nation.” It further noted that their rise to the pinnacle of military leadership stands as “a beacon of inspiration to the younger generation who aspire to positions of responsibility within the military establishment.”
According to the letters, the alumni body lauded the service chiefs for their “visionary leadership, gallantry, and dedication to national service,” adding that their records of excellence in command and institutional transformation are a testament to the training and values instilled by the University of Calabar.
“Their appointments at this crucial period in our national history validate their enduring leadership qualities, marked by integrity, resilience, and vision,” the letters stated.
The association also expressed its desire to pay courtesy visits to the service chiefs at dates convenient to them. It explained that such visits would foster engagement on areas of mutual interest, especially in advancing the vision of the university and strengthening the mission of the alumni body in promoting educational excellence and national development.
While praying for God’s continued guidance and strength for the officers, the association commended their commitment to upholding peace, security, and professionalism within Nigeria’s defence architecture.
