Tinubu Didn't Create Nigeria's Problems, says Otu, Urges Cross Riverians To Sustain Gains

Ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's campaign rally in Calabar on Monday, support groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State on Sunday held a pre-campaign rally and solidarity walk across major streets of the state capital.

The rally, which took off from Mary Slessor Roundabout through Marian Road to Rabana Roundabout, down to the U.J Esuene Stadium and terminated at the Governor's Office in Calabar, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and various support groups drumming support for the President's re-election.

Speaking after the rally, Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, said President Tinubu did not create the problems confronting Nigeria but met years of underinvestment, looting and economic decay.

He said there comes a time in the life of a nation when people must confront challenges with sacrifices, noting that God gave Nigeria President Tinubu as a transformational leader needed at such a time.

According to Governor Otu, President Tinubu is a man of character and audacious sagacity who has tested power and supported other zones when it was necessary, adding that it is now his time and he cannot be denied.

Otu maintained that Nigeria is now being recognized for its fiscal responsibility and that despite the current difficulties, there's hope ahead.

He stated that no other leader would have taken the decisive decisions President Tinubu has taken to salvage the nation, stressing that both his administration in Cross River and the Renewed Hope Agenda at the federal level represent change and growth.

The Governor added that his administration's achievements would not have been possible without the support of President Tinubu, describing Monday's campaign as a day to seal the covenant that Nigeria will only move forward and never go backward.

He said the gains recorded must be sustained and taken to the next level, while challenging those with contrary views to a debate, noting that having worked with every Nigerian President since 1999, President Tinubu stands out as different.

Earlier, the Director of Support Groups for the President Bola Tinubu 2027 Campaign Council, Hon. Silas Ali Agara, said Cross Riverians must not miss out of the one trillion dollar economy being pursued by President Tinubu.

Agara urged the people to work hard to return the President to office in 2027 and assured that the solidarity walk was a demonstration of genuine support, while commending all support groups for turning out en masse.
