Tinubu Declares Nationwide Security Emergency

President Bola Tinubu has declared a nationwide security emergency following the spate of killings, kidnappings and banditry in the country. In his declaration yesterday, the president ordered the Army, Police and intelligence services to embark on recruitment of more personnel to further combat the evil that is exacerbating insecurity in the country.

The President also appealed to the National Assembly to start the process of legalising state police to arrest the increasing barrage of kidnappings, killings and terrorism in different parts of the country.
