Breaking News: Prof. Antonia Essien Appointed Acting UNIUYO VC

Prof. Anthonia Essien, a devout Catholic and a Reverend Sister, has been appointed Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

Prof. Essien is an Annang woman and was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic before her new appointment. 

She emerged after a rigorous meeting of Senate held yesterday November 26, 2025. 

The University of Uyo is yet to appoint a substantive Vice Chancellor due to the attempted political imposition of candidate..
