Voice of Central, a socio-political group in Cross River State has planned to inaugurate its Ward and Polling Unit Executives, alongside an endorsement rally for the Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, and his Deputy, Peter Odey, as sole candidates for the 2027 governorship election.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 22, 2025, in Ikom Local Government Area, and will bring together political stakeholders, traditional leaders, youth groups, and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the Central Senatorial District.

According to a statement jointly signed by the group's Director-General, Mr. Victor Bassey, and Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Ayuk Helen, the rally aims to strengthen grassroots support and mobilize early backing for the Otu/Odey ticket.

As part of the activities planned for the day, six billboards will be unveiled across the six Local Government Areas in Central Cross River — Ikom, Boki, Etung, Obubra, Yakurr, and Abi. The billboards are expected to project the governor’s achievements and enhance the visibility of the APC in the region.

“The rally is a demonstration of our total support for the current administration in the state. We believe in the vision and leadership of Senator Bassey Otu and Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, and we are proud to stand with them as they continue to deliver on the People’s First agenda,” the statement read.

It added that the inauguration of executives at the ward and polling unit levels would further strengthen the political structure of the party in the zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group extended a formal invitation to all party faithful, political allies, and residents of Central Cross River to attend the event and participate in what it described as “a decisive step toward political continuity and consolidation.”
