Unicross VC Lobbies NASS Members For Intervention Projects

As part of deliberate efforts aimed at attracting federal assistance to the University of Cross River state, the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution,Prof. Francisca Bassey has embarked on aggressive lobbying campaigns for support.
The move is meant to compliment state government efforts in upgrading facilities at the University of Cross River State to globally acceptable standard.
Already series of engagement meetings have been initiated by the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor of the the school,Prof. Francisca Bassey with stakeholders at the federal level.
Sources confirmed that the interactions are meant to persuade federal government officials of Cross River extraction especially National Assembly members to explore their good offices to secure grants and major projects to the school for enhanced learning atmosphere.
Inadequate hostels, lecture halls, obsolete equipments and poor funding are some of the major challenges facing the instruction established in 1975 as the The Polytechnic Calabar by the military administration of Late Brigadier General Esuene to address technological manpower needs of the state.
Since its creation, the school which later metamorphosed into Cross River University of Technology and later University of Cross River state has produced notable professionals in accounting, engineering,mass communication and other fields aside winning national and global laurels in technological inventions.
Meanwhile, indications are rife that the interactions would soon yield dividends as the Senator Eteng Williams has promised to work assiduously to attract more federal presence to the school.
