Ikom LGA Introduces Mini Bus Shuttle Service to Reduce Congestion and Improve Road Safety

The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Pst. Mercy Nsor, has launched a new Ikom Mini Bus Shuttle Service in partnership with the Cross River State Commercial Transport Regulation Agency (CTRA).
The initiative aims to decongest the Ikom metropolis, enhance road safety, and reduce transportation costs.
This according The chairman will help to drastically reduce congestion caused by commercial cyclists, improve road safety by minimizing reckless cycling, check the monopoly of cyclist and enhance transportation options for residents.
The Executive Chairman emphasized that the initiative is designed to drastically reduce transport fare, prioritize the welfare and safety of Ikom residents while providing them with alternative transportation options and promoting competition to drive down prices.
The routes and their respective fares/tariffs have been minimized offering residents a convenient and affordable transportation option. The newly revised approved fairs are:-
1. 4 Corners - Ikom Town = 200
2. Ikom - Okuni = 500
3. Ikom - Alesi = 1,000
4. Ikom - Adijinkpor = 500
5. Ikom - Metropolitan Drop = 200
6. Ikom - Akparabong = 800
7. Ikom - Nde = 700
8. Ikom - Edor = 1,000
9. Ikom - Nkarasi = 1,200
10. Ikom - Effraya = 1,000
11. Ikom - Etome = 1,000
12. Ikom - Ayughasa = 1,500
13. Ikom - Ajassor = 1,000
14. Ikom - Last Motor = 500
15. Ikom - Nkofab = 2,000
The introduction of the Mini Bus Shuttle Service is expected to bring numerous benefits to residents and contribute to the overall development of the local government area.
