2025 Budget: Cross RIver Gov't Allocates N50bn For Debt Services, N37bn To AGs Office, N18bn To Assembly, N10bn to Special Services

CROSS RIver Government has allocated the sum of N50bn for debt services, N37bn to AGs Office, N18bn to House of Assembly and N10bn to Special Services department.
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River state signed N538,523,915,715.99 billion 2025 Budget into law.
The 2025 Appropriation Law No.1, christened “Budget of Sustainable Growth”was signed into law on December 24, 2024 and takes effect from January 1, 2025.
Signing the law, Otu said the size of the budget reflects state's deep commitment to economic growth, infrastructure development, and improving the well-being of our people.
The breakdown of the budget document as obtained by THE BEAGLE NEWS shows that some sectors including debt servicing, Office of Accountant General, House of Assembly, Special Services department and chief of staff office got some staggering amount for the 2025 Fiscal year.
According to the 19-page budget document signed by HE Bassey Otu, N50, 009,087,281.86 was allocated for debt servicing, while office of the Accountant General (OAG) got N36, 199, 624,313.72 even as the same office got another sum of N1, 955, 000.000 with code no.2000700100 on page 11.
Cross RIver State House of Assembly got a total allocation of about N18 billion with a breakdown of N6, 467,920,088.35 on page 3 with a code no.1200300100 and the second tranche of N12,548,872, 128 slas seen on page 10.
Special Services Department got a whooping sum of about N11 billion broken down into N10,719,915,219.05 with code no.101800100 on page 3 and N1,871,351,000 on page 10 while Ministry of Special Duties and Integrated Affairs (MSDIA), on page 11 of the approved budget, was allocated the sum of N9,232,000,000 with code no.700100100.
The Chief of Staff Office, which has enormous work to carry out considering its role, sometimes as a clearing house, will spend the about N8 billion as shown page 3 with N5,410,455,475.68 and on page 10 the sum of N3,384,000,000.1
Border Development Commission got N3,559,000,000 while Ministry of Information got N1,875,000,00.
