Environmental Sanitation: Ibok Street Takes April's 'Cleanest' Prize

As Cross River State strives for environmental habitability, Ibok Street has emerged as cleanest for the month of April, 2024, earning the sum of N100,000 (one hundred thousand naira).

Presenting the award, the Environment Commissioner, Hon Moses Osogi applauded members of the community for keying into the developmental strides of the State Government and being worthy examples by participating actively in the sanitation exercise in ensuring that their immediate environment is clean.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Community, the Youth leader of Ibok Street, Mr. Okon Michael expressed appreciation for the magnanimity of the state Government, stating that they are thankful for the recognition and award and promised to put in more efforts in supporting the State Government's monthly Environmental exercise.

Mr. Michael used the occasion to appeal to the state government for urgent measures to tackle flood related issues bedeviling the area.

In the same vein, the Environment Commissioner, Hon . Moses Osogi while on his routine monitoring and supervision of the April 27 monthly Environmental Sanitation exercise, maintained strict enforcement measures round the Metropolis.

The Commissioner noted that the turnout surpassed previous months, signifying progress in restoring the state's clean status.

Defaulters were apprehended, tried by the mobile court and prosecuted accordingly.

This reflects a commitment to upholding environmental standards and ensure compliance to sanitation regulations by holding individuals accountable for their actions.

The initiative aims to foster culture of responsibility and promote a cleaner, healthier environment for all residents.
