UNICAL PRO-CHANCELLOR COMMENDS CP, SEEKS MORE COLLABORATION

The Pro-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, DIG Udom Ekpoudom (rtd) has commended the noble efforts of the Cross River State Commissioner of Police (CP) in boosting security on campus.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Institution's Governing Council said the University came on a note of gratitude to formally thank the CP and his management for the Command's excellent relations with the University and to ask for more collaborations going forward.
DIG Udom Ekpoudom stated that the diligent posture of the Police Chieftain cannot be overlooked or treated with levity as it has translated into appreciable dividends for both the University and the state at large.
In a remark, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi lauded the CP for his proactiveness, prompt attention and untiring stance on matters affecting the institution, as well as, his respect for due process.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olusegun Omosanyin described the visit as significant, imperative and useful for both the Command and the Institution.
CP Olusegun Omosanyin said the need for both partners to synergize and form a symbiotic relationship in the fight against crime in the University and other sectors cannot be overemphasized.
He admitted that the collaboration has checked the upsurge in the use of drugs, menace of cultism and other unlawful behaviours, thus, reducing the rate of crime among the young population.
The visit was marked with a presentation of memento to the Pro-Chancellor by the Commissioner of Police, and a group photograph.
