Tinubu Approves Establishment of  First Federal University of Sports in Ebonyi State. From Abdul SULE ( Abuja)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of the Federal University of Sports in Ebonyi State.

With the approval, Ebonyi State is hosting the first Sports University in Nigeria.

The bill for the establishment of a sports University in Nigeria was sponsored by Senator Obinna Ogba in the year 2022 and successfully passed the first, second, and third readings during the 9th Senate. 

Upon assumption of office, His Excellency the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwuifuru, took the quest for the establishment of the sports university up. 

And on July 23, 2024 through the instrumentality of Governor Nwifuru, President Tinubu approved the immediate take-off of the university in Ebonyi.

3rd paragraph of the letter signed by Mr. Prsident names the institution as FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF SPORTS Ebonyi state.

The university will be located at Nkalagu, Ishileu LGA Ebonyi state,creating another job 
opportunity and development for the state.
