Cross River: Ekpe Society Court Bans Archibong Ika Indefinitely For Defiling Efut Ancestry

The Efe Ekpe Asibong Ekondo, a competent Ekpe Society Court in Calabar has sanctioned one Mr. Archibong Ika idedinitley from all Ekpe activities, initiates and title holders and any other matter touching or relating to Ekpe activities.
Mr Archibong Ika is a self- acclaimed Ekpe title holder, who was seen wearing Ekpe regalia during one of the Ekpe cultural shows and invited for questioning.
The Court which verdict was declared on March 22, 2025, had the Ekpe Title Holders and Leadership cutting across Efik, Efut and Qua in the meeting/session,
After carefully examining the issues raised against Ika and his defense alleged, the Court on March 22, 2025 dismissed all his claims as unfounded and ill-driven aimed at defiling the highly respected and exalted throne of the Efut Ancestry.
Present at the Court verdict include the Ekpe title holders and leadership cutting across Efik, Efut and Qua in the meeting/session,
The Court in her Judgement, ruled that Mr Archibong Ika exuded complete falsehood in all his claims as alleged just as he had defiled the revered position of the highest title in Efut Nation by defaming the character of His Imperial Majesty,Tribal King, Muri Munene and Paramount Ruler of Efut Nation and President Efut Traditional Rulers Council.
In a statement by Obong Ebonko, Efe Ekpe Asibong Ekondo, the Court, ordered that "no Ekpe initiate nor Ekpe title holder should have anything to do with Mr Archibong Ika as it relates to Ekpe
"That he should never dress in Ekpe regalia henceforth as that shall amount to impersonation as he's not an initiate nor a Title Holder of Ekpe Society.
"That any Ekpe initiate nor Title Holder who violates this sanction shall face same.
"That this sanction shall remain so not until Mr Archibong Ika submits as remorseful and also redeem all the fines earlier slammed on him.
"That this sanction has been conveyed accordingly to Efe Ekpe Ebuka Ebuka, where Archibong Ika claims his titleship, for the shrine to adhere strictly to the above sanction without any iota of compromise.
