Southern British High Sch, Cal Wins Nat'l Competition

In keeping with it's goal towards human capital development and as top notch institution in academics, the Southern British High School Calabar has emerged winner of the 2023 National Young Consumer Contest Award.
The Contest organized by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission,Abuja featured essays and oral debate on the topic "The Consumer in the Evolution of Digital Finance and had 800 entries from across the country.
According to the Organisers, the entries were subjected to plagiarism, grammar test and finally an oral debate was conducted for the finalists which saw Miss Idera Peter and Miss Amanda Antigha, JSS 2 students of the college emerging winners of the first price of three hundred Naira (N300,000.00) only.
Reacting to the victory, the Chairman of the Southern British High School, Calabar, Akin Fakorede described the victory as a statement of assertion that the School remains one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria and that Cross River is indeed the center of academic excellence in the country.
Akin expressed management delight and gratitude to teachers and staff for their dedication and assured that this victory is only the beginning of greater feats in their quest to prepare students for global academic competition and hardwork towards redefining education in Nigeria and across the globe.
The Chairman acknowledged the technological advancements in the world today and stated the school's resolve to produce students that measure up with the best scholars worldwide.
He expressed special thanks to the Cross River state governor, His Excellency, Bassey Otu for providing a conducive environment for investment in education and promised that come 2024 ,students of The college will engage in many more competitions and bring laurels to the state.
