C'River; APC Clears Air On Registration Of Support Groups

By Hannah ARIKPO

The Cross River State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has clarified contending issues arising from the Party's decision calling for the re-registration of APC' based political support groups operating in the state given the recent dissolution of the Amalgamated APC Support Groups across the Country by the National leadership of the Party in Abuja.

The Acting APC State Secretary, Hon. Joseph Ogar, who stood in for the APC State Chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba explained that the decision was to enable the Party to streamline the activities of the group to ensure the interest of members of the ruling All Progressive Congress Party remains sacrosanct

Hon. Ogar stated this in Calabar during the visit of the National, Zonal, and State Executive Members of the newly inaugurated Consolidated APC Grassroots Movement (CAGraM), Cross River State Chapter to the Party Secretariat

He appealed to Party Supporters to exercise patience with the Party Leadership including the  Prince Bassey Edet Otu-led administration for the best interest of the Party and all Cross Riverians and advised APC loyalists to follow the directives of the Party to register their Support Groups as earlier announced.

According to him, the Party desires Support Groups, who can interpret government policies to the Nigerian populace, in rural areas, and attributed a lack of understanding of government policies to the complaints and criticisms of Nigerians against the APC Government on fuel subsidy removal among others.

Ogar commended the founders of CAGraM for coming together to fill the gap of mobilizing and educating Nigerians about the good intentions of the Government to gain support and unity of the Nation.

Earlier, the National Officer of CAGram and Cross River State Leader, Evang. Ubi Etowa said the Organization is a Political Grassroots Movement entrusted with the mandate of interpreting the policies of the Government to Nigerians and mobilizing Nigerians across the Political Wards and Polling Units in the Country to support the present administration.

He disclosed that plans are underway for CAGraM to hold her first  Zonal summit between February and March next year with Cross River as the host State.

Also speaking, the State Coordinator of CAGraM, Apostle Iya Effiong Orok,   Zonal Women Leader, South-South, Dr. Grace Onya Edu, and the Zonal Deputy Secretary, South-South, Dr. Godwin Abua Ushie, reiterated the movement's preparedness to work in synergy with the Party, at all levels towards recording more achievements in good governance.

They explained that some of the Policies of the Government like the removal of fuel subsidy a difficult but with tolerance, patience, and determination, Nigerians stand to enjoy their sacrifice shortly stressing that the APC ruling government is working around the clock for the unification of the exchange rate as well as promote economic growth and reduce inflation in Nigeria.
