Sen.Ekpenyong To Represent Nigeria At ECOWAS Parliament

The senator representing the Southern Senatorial district of Cross River State Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong has been sworn in as one of the member representing Nigeria in the ECOWAS Parliament.
Senator Ekpenyong was sworn in as a member representing Nigeria in the 115 member ECOWAS Parliament on Thursday April 4 in Abuja.
The 115 member parliament comprising of parliamentarians from the 15 member nations of ECOWAS namely Benin, Burkina-Faso, Gabon, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone & Togo will hold the position for the next four years.
The ECOWAS Parliament which is one of the three arms of ECOWAS strives to strengthen representative democracy in member Nations with an ambition to promote cooperation, integration and enhance economic stability in the West African sub region.
The swearing in ceremony which held in Abuja had the ECOWAS Chairman President Bola Tinubu, President of ECOWAS Commission H.E. Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio and other dignitaries in attendance.
