The Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, has commiserated with the Cross River State NDDC Commissioner, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, following the interment of his father-in-law, Late Sir Edem, at the age of 83.

Akpabio, who spoke on his visit to the Duke’s family, acknowledged death as a universal end for all mortals created by God.

According to him, “Grief is a journey that words cannot fully heal, but the memories of a life well-lived bring comfort.

“Sir Edem Ubom’s legacy will continue to shine through the family he nurtured,” he remarked.

He encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the legacy left behind by the deceased, especially in the Lord’s vineyard where he served as a knight in the Methodist Church.

The late Sir Edem Ubom was laid to rest in Ikot Nkim, Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Akwa Ibom State, in a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers who came to honour his memory.
