Rep Ukpong-Udo Distributes Over 1,000 Bags of Rice, Cash to Constituents To Cushion Economic Hardship

The House of Representatives member representing Ikono-ini Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, has distributed 1,200 bags of rice and cash to constituents to the 281 units comprising the constituency.

The items were delivered to the constituents on Saturday March 2, 2024 at Primary School, Ikot Odu, Ndiya, in Ikono Local Government Area, is part of the move to provide succour to families grappling with financial stress.

Additionally, Rt. Hon. Ukpong-udo gave out financial assistance to vulnerable families within the constituency to alleviate other immediate needs.

Speaking during the exercise, Rep. Ukpong-udo emphasized the importance of proactive and compassionate leadership in addressing the socio-economic challenges in service to the people. 

He noted that the gesture was aimed at rekindling hope among the people in the face of adversity, calling on other individuals and voluntary organisations to come to the aid of the citizens.

He admonished the representatives who received the items on behalf of each village and unit to abstain from biases across political lines in the sharing process in their various domains, as he undertook the gesture devoid of political party sentiments.

He urged indigenes of Ikono and Ini to be patient and keep faith as palms are on for another round of empowerment programme.
