Ofut Ogar Emerges Pioneer UNICROSS Alumni Convocation Representative to Governing Council

The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) Alumni has elected its representative to the University’s Governing Council.
In an election which held today at the school campus, Dr. Ofut Ogar was elected as the pioneer convocation representative to the governing council.
This marks a major milestone in the history of the university alumni as since the law establishing an alumni seat on the Governing Council was passed in 2019, this is the first successful election for an Alumni representative to be held.
In a statement, the President of the UNICROSS Alumni Association Dr. Inyali Peter congratulated Dr. Ogar, expressing for emerging victorious while expressing confidence in his capacity to serve.
“We entrust him with the confidence bestowed upon him and look forward to his collaborative efforts with fellow council members to drive policies that will propel the institution forward” the statement read in parts.
The Alumnus President however lauded the vice chancellor Prof. Francisca Bassey for her visionary leadership and unwavering support for the Alumni Association as well as the state Governor for appointing a forward thing VC.
“I'd like to express my gratitude to the VC for her visionary leadership, since assuming office, she's consistently encouraged the Alumni to unite and contribute to the institution's growth. Her passion and commitment, despite not being an alumnus herself, serve as a powerful inspiration to us”.
“We're also grateful to the Governor and Visitor to the university for appointing a Vice Chancellor who spares no effort in propelling the institution forward. As an association, we'll continue to complement government and management efforts by addressing essential needs to ensure the university's continued growth and success” Inyali said.
