Obudu PDP Exco Declares Total Support For Jarigbe, Says No Defection to APC

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Obudu Chapter has declared total support for Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe ahead of the 2027 general elections even as they vowed not to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is coming barely a few days after the member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku federal constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke, defected to APC.
In a statement made available to THE BEAGLE NEWS after its expanded Exco meeting held in Obudu at the weekend and signed by 10 ward chairmen, 13 ward excos and 15 ward coordinators, they resolved to remain in PDP and align with is values and principles.
The statement dated May 1, 2025 reads in part: "We the under listed members of the People Democratic Party with signatories hereby resolve that we will not move to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other political party.
"We stand by our principles and convictions, and will continue to support the party’s ideology that aligns with our values.
"We declare that our political affiliation is based on our own free will and decision-making, and we will not be swayed by external influences or pressures.
"We will continue to exercise our right to choose our political party and candidates based on their track record, policies, and character.
"We commit to staying true to our principles and values, and we will not compromise our integrity for any reason.
"We will continue to engage in the political process in a responsible and informed manner, and we will make decisions that align with our conscience and the best interests of our community and country.
"Let this resolution serve as a declaration of our independence and commitment to our principal Dist. Sen. Jarigbe and PDP Obudu chapter."
