Just In: Appeal Court Reverses Boki/Ikom Tribunal Ruling, Orders Expeditious Hearing On Petition 

The Court Appeal has reversed the Election Petition Tribunal’s ruling on the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency election, and ordered the Tribunal to give fair and expeditious hearing on the petition.

The People’s Democratic Party Candidate, Attah Ochinke had approached the tribunal challenging the outcome of the Boki/Ikom House of Representatives election. The Tribunal had struck out the case on technical ground of premature filing of pre-trial notice, which prompted Ochinke to proceed to the Appeal Court.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, today, reversed the decision of the tribunal, insisting hat the petition be heard on the merit.
