Governor Otu Marks Second Anniversary with Town Hall Meeting, Pledges Transparency, Accountability, and Progressive Governance

The Governor of Cross River State Senator Bassey Otu has marked his second anniversary in office with a town hall meeting held at the Calabar International Conference Center(CICC).
The event which brought together stakeholders, government officials, lawmakers. groups and the general public reflected on the administration's achievements and future plans.
In an opening address, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, highlighted Governor Otu's commitment to social and economic development, asset recovery, and people-centric governance.
Ekpang noted that the governor's administration has laid a solid foundation for growth in all sectors.
The Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Cross River State Planning Commission, Dr. Bong Duke, while presenting the state's economic roadmap disclosed that the Governors vision is to make Cross River State the liveliest state in Nigeria, with prosperous and healthy citizens living in harmony with nature.
The roadmap he said focuses on seven key areas, including agriculture, private sector-driven economy, tourism, quality education, healthcare, and infrastructural development.
The Senator representing the Central Senatorial District, Senator Eteng Williams, praised Governor Otu's capacity and commitment to good governance.
On behalf of the Cross River National Assembly caucus, Williams assured the governor of legislative support for policies benefiting the state.
In his remarks, the Cross River state Governor Senator BASSEY Otu thanked participants for celebrating his administration's achievements.
He emphasized the importance of governance and highlighted progress in various sectors, including security, education, health, and aviation. The governor also announced plans for future town hall meetings in the three senatorial districts of the state.
Governor Otu listed out some of his achievements to include a boost in security, education, health, recovery and revitalization of state assets, civil service, aviation as well as an increase in the state IGR.
The Governor however stated his commitment to transparency, accountability, and people centered governance.
