Gov Otu's NASS Adviser Solicits Greater Mutualism Among Cross Riverians

The Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on National Assembly Matters, Hon. Chris Mbu-Ogar has solicited for mutually beneficial association among Cross Riverians, especially the political class to foster development and greater good of Cross River State.

He made the call, Monday, in a courtesy visit to Rt. Hon. Alex Egbona, Member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in Abuja.

Hon. Mbu-Ogar who emphasized on the importance of unity and harmony under one leadership, stressed that Cross River State must eliminate divisions such as "Abuja front" and "Calabar front" and remain united under the leadership of Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

Addressing the importance of utilizing the Cross River State Liaison Office in Abuja, Hon. Mbu-Ogar emphasized its role as a pivotal service center for all Cross Riverians, including National Assembly members, to strengthen intra-state relations.

In his response, the Member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Alex Egbona expressed solidarity with Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s leadership and pledged to actively contribute to the Governor's success during his tenure.

Rt. Hon. Egbona also pledged to motivate his colleagues to visit the Cross River State Liaison Office in Abuja regularly and explore ways to enhance its effectiveness.

The visit also included discussions on strategies that National Assembly members from Cross River State can employ to ensure Cross Riverians are gainfully engaged within the Federal Structure, reflecting the federal character principle.

Also present at the visit was Mr. Bassey Aquah, the Permanent Secretary of Cross River Liaison Office in Abuja and Dr. John Ebokpo, Technical Adviser to the Special Advicer, National Assembly.
