Former Federal Lawmaker Loses Father
The father of a former speaker of the Cross River state House of Assembly, and three-times member of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Bassey Ewa has been reported dead.
A statement issued by the Eko Ewa Uduma family of Ntan Community in Ekori,Yakur local government area and signed by Rt Hon Bassey Ewa indicate that the Late Chief Ude Eko Ewa passed away on January 17,2025 after a brief illness.
The statement reads in parts"The Late Chief Ude Eko Ewa was a retired federal civil servant having worked meritoriously and retired from the National Bureau of Statistics. He was a community leader and served as village head of Kebeledum village until his death "
Burial has been slated for Saturday March 1 at his country home in Ntan Ekori in Yakur to be preceded by a Wake Keeping on Friday, February 28 at the same venue.
