Sen Jarigbe Facilitates Construction of Amukwong Colonial Bridge in Obudu Community

Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe,
representing Cross River northern senatorial district, has facilitated the construction of Colonial Amukwong bridge in Alege-Ubang, Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River state.
The bridge, which was constructed during the Colonial era, when completed will link up Amukwong, Okikwor, Ngor-Kpu and other agrarian communities in Obudu local government area,
The construction of the bridge was necessitated by the fact that the old bridge had become a great risk to commuters due to its dilapidated state.
The community, had during electioneering, asked Sen Jarigbe to assist to reconstruct the bridge for them to ease means of transportation and evacuation of fame products.
Besides, the Senator has facilitated the installation of over 200 pieces of solar-powered street light for the community to boost small scale business and social activities at Amukwong.
Handing over the bridge, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, represented by his constituency officer Mr. Egar National, said the bridge will help improve residents' access to essential amenities, boost economic activities and enhance connectivity and boost economic growth.
“This project is part of Senator Jarigbe's efforts to drive development and improve the lives of his constituents while building on his track record of facilitating infrastructural projects.
“The old bridge, which had become a hazard to commuters, had posed as a significant obstacle to the socio-economic development of the area. The people had reached out to their Senator to help which has led to the commencement of this project” he said.
He, however, tasked the site contractors JRB Construction Company, to deliver a quality and durable job that meets the local communities' expectations and demands.
