Former C'River Speaker Dumps PDP, May Declare For APC Soon

By Ndifereke BASSEY

The former Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, Esq, has dumped the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Gaul Lebo, the Speaker of the 8th Assembly, is one of the former Governor Liyel Imoke political ally and confident.

It is believes in political circle that Imoke brought him into mainstream politics and single handed made him a Speaker then and supported him to contest for House of Representatives seat and lost out to the present occupant, Rt.Hon. Alex Egbona, in what analyst described as the battle of political god-son and god-father in 2019 by-election.

Gual Lebo in a terse letter of resignation addressed to the Adadama ward chairman of People's Democratic Party (PDP) I Abi local government area read in part: "I wish to communicate my resignation as member of the People's Democratic Party at all levels.

"I appreciate the opportunity and platform offered me by the party in the last few years. I wish you the best."

THE BEAGLE NEWS can authouritatively reveal that the former Speaker is heading for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) any moment from now as his friends in APC have been making overtures to him.

Gaul Lebo is a close ally of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Odey, the Senator representing central senatorial district and his successor as the Speaker, Sen. Jonah Williams Eteng, and some party' top shots.

Eteng and Gaul are described in political circle as Siamese twins and have moved on together for years.

It was gathered that arrangements have reached an advanced stage to receive Gaul as he rejoins his political allies in APC.

Gual Lebo has been seen in APC top leaders' circle in recent times before his letter of resignation was made public.
