Cross River State Consultative Forum Lauds Governor Otu's 2-Year Achievements, Praises 'People-First' Agenda

Cross River State Consultative Forum (CRSCF) Commends Governor Bassey Otu on Two Years of Purposeful Leadership

The Cross River State Consultative Forum (CRSCF) congratulates His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his second anniversary as Governor of Cross River State.

In just two years, Governor Otu has demonstrated a clear vision, compassionate governance, and an unwavering commitment to the development and unity of our state. His administration’s strides in infrastructure, civil service reform, social welfare, and rural development are commendable and reflect the ideals of inclusive leadership.

The Forum particularly commends the administration’s outstanding economic and institutional reforms, notably the 60.6% growth in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)—from N20.5 billion in 2022 to N36.3 billion by May 2024. The Governor's commitment to transparency has also earned the state national recognition and a $4 million grant under the Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLI) framework. Equally remarkable is the digitization of the Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) process, which now facilitates land titling in just 21 to 42 days and empowers citizens to use their documentation as economic assets.

In the areas of infrastructure and social development, Governor Otu has restored power to two local government areas, namely, Akpabuyo and Bakassi, after more than a decade in darkness, revitalized urban cleanliness in Calabar, and introduced the Senior Citizens Centre Law—establishing wellness facilities across the state for the elderly. His government’s launch of a ₦30 billion commercial agriculture development fund and its recognition as the Best State in Digital Innovation by NIRA further underscore the administration’s multidimensional approach to development.

The CRSCF applauds these efforts and urges continued focus on policies that uplift the lives of citizens across every community. We reaffirm our support for the Governor’s “People First” agenda and wish him greater success in the years ahead.

Long live Cross River State.

Signed
