Cross RIver PDP Acting Chairman, Edibe, Assumes Duty, Promises To Work With Critical Stakeholders

FOLLOWING the suspension of Bar. Vena Ilem, the former Vice Chairman North of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Austin Edibe, has assumed duty as the acting chairman of the party.
Ikem was on Friday, November 15, 2024 suspended by the State Working Committee of the party and endorsed by 18 chapter chairmen.
In his acceptance speech, Edibe said his emergence shows the strength of the constitution of the party and promised to run an inclusive administration.
He said: "I wish to congratulate us as a party, my emergence is in line with the constitution of the party and I feel very humbled to be given this opportunity.
"This shows the strength of the constitution of the party, the new administration will serve the party with all our might and do things collectively.
"I commend the former chairman because I believe he did well for the party and stabilised it but the party needed to move forward," he stated.
The party also inaugurated its new vice chairman north, Julius Udayi, who succeeds Edibe.
