The gale of defection has continued to rock Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in central senatorial district as scores of its members have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defectors mostly from Bendeghe-Ekiem Ward, Etung local government area included the ward chairman, Mr. Asu Tawo, astute businessman and opinion leader, Oscar Amba Tangban, Esq, former councillor, Hon. Ojong Etta Tawo, leading a host of other stalwarts into APC.
In a well-attended ceremony at the Bendeghe-Ekiem Community hall, on Saturday, officiated by the APC Ward Chairman, Mr Tangban Ejor Obi and his Executives, the erstwhile members of PDP pledged their loyalty to their new party, the APC.
While playing host to the new members in his country home at Njim-Emeh in Bendeghe-Ekiem, the Commissioner for Health, Cross River State, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, assured the new members that they have nothing to loose in APC as they socket directly to the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, the governor of Cross River State.
Since PDP lost the governorship ticket to APC, the party has been hit with an exodus of its members especially in some parts of South and Central senatorial districts.
