Cross River Is Ready For Investors - Gov. Otu

Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has declared the readiness of his administration to welcome investors with huge business interests to help in building and change the economic fortunes of the fast emerging new Cross River State.
Governor Otu disclosed this on Wednesday while declaring open a 2-day International Cooperation and Investment Summit at the Calabar International Convention Center, Calabar.
Themed "The Paradigm Shift", the Governor informed the Conference participants that his administration is leveraging on the abundant natural resources, peaceful environment,huge economic potentials and the friendly disposition of the people of the State to invite investors, Corporate organizations and Private Individuals to come and tap from the God-given resources,which gives the State huge Comparative advantage over others.
"The Government of Cross River State is focused on the delivery of the People's First Mandate by diligently seeking local and global cooperation and Investment opportunities that will support the realization of the demands of this mandate", Governor Otu averred, pointing out that. "we have 13 projects across five sectors under consideration".
The Governor announced that the summit is the first in the series of initiatives that are geared towards achieving a private-sector driven economy that will guarantee wealth and job creation,provide basic infrastructure, public sector reforms, agricultural value chains development, poverty reduction and inequality in the State.
He said the theme of the summit was carefully selected to reflect the collective aspirations of his administration,which the Governor noted is to gravitate from a public-sector dominated State to that driven and propelled by private players.
The Summit is to feature keynote addresses on the paradigm shift: developing a Blue Ocean strategy for emerging Cross River State by Dr. Herbert Wigwe,Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings PLC and Dr. Olagunju Ashimolowo ,Vice President Operations, ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development; Panel and break-out sessions, among other highlights of the Summit.
