Cross River Gov't Consoles Families of Ikwette-Obudu Car Crash

Cross River staye government has consoled the families of the Ikwette ghastly motor accident involving the Catholic church community.
The accident, which occurred on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Ikwette community by Obudu Ranch bottom hill, claimed four precious lives and injured nine others.
The deceased are young seminarians from the Enugu Catholic Church Diocese, who were on tour of the resort and were retiring to Enugu.
In a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Obudu Ranch Resort, Comrade Sunday Michael, the government commended the Nigerian Army, the Police, and the youths who acted swiftly and promptly to minimize the loss of lives.
The statement reads in part: "Our heart is heavy with grief as I acknowledge the devastating accident that occurred on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Ikwette community by Obudu Ranch bottom hill, claiming four precious lives and injuring nine others.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of these young seminarians from the Enugu Catholic Church Diocese, who had come to our resort for a tour.
"I extend my gratitude to the emergency responders - the Nigerian Army, the Police, and the youths who acted swiftly and promptly to minimize the loss of lives. I also want to acknowledge the swift response of our safety drivers and staff who arrived at the accident scene almost immediately, providing critical assistance.
"Their timely intervention undoubtedly saved lives and mitigated the severity of the injuries. To the families of the victims, I offer my heartfelt condolences. May you find strength and comfort in the love and support of those around you during this painful time.
"As we mourn this tragic loss, we reaffirm our commitment to safety at the Obudu Ranch Resort and beyond. May the memories of the victims be a blessing to their families, and may their legacy live on in our hearts. May God bless and protect us all."
