Cross River Governor Flags Off 2024 Carnival Calabar Dry Run, Assures Bigger and Better Celebrations

Activities heralding the 2024 Carnival Calabar has kicked off in the state with the flagging of the first dry run for the 2024 edition of the carnival. 

The 2024 carnival calabar wrth the theme "Our shared prosperity" which is set to hold in December is the 20th edition of the Africa's biggest street party.

The governor of Cross River State Senator Bassey Otu while flagging off the dry run assured carnival enthusiast that this year's carnival will be the bigger, bolder and better than the past with a lot of exciting side attractions to go with.

The governor who was represented by the speaker of the state assembly Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem disclosed that the carnival is part of the 32 days show packed calabar Christmas activities and urged tourist, fun lovers and enthusiast to make Calabar their preferred destination this Christmas.

The chairman of the state carnival commission Mr. Gab Onah, maintained that preparations have been made to ensure a memorable 29th carnival activities while revealing that this year's edition will feature a lot of additions and new innovations.

The event saw the 7 competing bands Passion 4, Master Blaster, Seagull, Bayside, Freedom Band, Calas Vegas Band and Diamond Band showcasing along the 12km carnival route.
