C'River North PDP Holds Stakeholders' Meeting, Receives Hundreds of Defectors From LP, Ruling APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Northern senatorial district of Cross River state has held a post election stakeholders' meeting to interface with party leaders, elders, youths and teeming supporters.

At the meeting, the Senator representing the zone, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, said the meeting was an opportunity to rub minds and chart a new course for the party.

He commended the party members for their steadfast and resilience in times of need.

Other elected office holders and party leaders used the occasion to thank party faithful for their contributions to the electoral successes of the party and their continuous commitment to the party in the senatorial district.

At the meeting, Senator Jarigbe announced the sum of N54 million to be distributed across to the 54 wards of the senatorial zone.

However, in what appeared as a major boost to the party in the senatorial district, the party leaders received thousands of defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) and Labour Party(LP).

The defectors were received at the Sen. Jarigbe Agom mini stadium, Ogoja.

Speaking at the defection at Sen. Jarigbe Agom mini stadium, Ogoja, venue of the event, the state chairman of PDP, Barr. Vena Ikem, Senator Jarigbe Agom, Hon. Godwin Offiono, and Hon. Chief Peter Akpanke as well as party leaders welcome the defectors, promising them a prosperous future under the umbrella Party (PDP).

The defectors led by Mr. Joseph Ogbaji (OGB) in their separate speeches promised to remain committed to PDP. 

They cited the numerous projects of Sen. Jarigbe, Hon. Offiono and Hon. Peter Akpanke as the motivation behind their move.

Party leaders in attendance include Hon. Omang C. Omang, Hon. Chief Pius Ashakia, Hon. Martins Achadu Ph.D, Hon. Rita Ayim, Barr. DC Enamhe Ph.D, Chief Austine Edibe.
