The Etung nation is abuzz with excitement as Henry Anom emerges as the APC flag bearer for the November 2 local government elections. This development has sent waves of euphoria throughout the cocoa rich local government, with many considering Anom the popular and best choice for the coveted seat.
Henry Anom was among 17 others announced on Monday night in Calabar by Governor Bassey Otu, amid the crème dè lá crème of the political party, as candidates to fly the APC flag at the forthcoming elections.
As the APC candidate, Anom will likely focus on key areas such as economic empowerment, infrastructure development, and education as his campaign blueprints. These are crucial issues that can significantly impact the lives of Etung residents.
Notably, APC leaders in the area like the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, Special Adviser to the Governor on Assets Recovery, Gilbert Agbor, Esq, among many others have expressed confidence in the party's victory in the upcoming local government elections. This optimism is expected to boost Anom's campaign and potentially influence the election's outcome.
The November 2 elections will be pivotal in shaping Etung's future. With Anom's emergence, the stage is set for an exciting contest. Political pundits have said Anom leverage his experience and popularity as a former teacher, councillor, secretary of council and special assistant to the former governor to win over voters.
Anom, in a keenly contested, free and fair primary election, pipped former House of Assembly member, Hon. Ogisa Okongor and Ndifon Stephen to clinch the APC's candidacy to the Chairmanship position of Etung Local Government Area.
Since the delightful news of Anom's emergence as Etung APC flag bearer for the forthcoming election, the various social media platforms of the LGA have been awashed with congratulatory messages, a situation that clearly depicts the candidate as the most popular and accepted choice.
