C'River Gov't Visits Moribund Eso-Bendeghe General Hospital, Pledges Renovation

The Governor Bassey Otu-led administration has visited the abandoned General Hospital in Eso-Bendeghe Community in Boki Local Government Area with a promise to work towards revamping the facility for health service delivery
The pledge was made on behalf of the government by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, during an inspection visit to the hospital, recently.
The Health Commissioner, who said the 100-capacity bed hospital was the only public secondary facility in Boki Local Government Area, noted that when revamped and put in use, the General Hospital would serve the health needs of residents of Eso-Bendeghe and other neighbouring communities like Nsadop, Boje, Bansan Osokom, Buanchor, Kataba, among others.
While enjoining the community leaders to continue to keep their watchful eyes on the facility, the Health Commissioner assured them that government would do a comprehensive evaluation on the property in a bit to get it operational.
Dr. Ayuk tasked the community to ensure periodic sanitation of the place to avoid it being overgrown by vegetation, engulf by fire or inhibited by reptiles and other dangerous creatures.
Responding, Engr. Augustine Ajom, a community representative, thanked the State Government for remembering the moribund hospital and promising to commence full service delivery at the facility in no distant time. He assured the State Government of the community's continued watch over the property while hoping for Government's quick intervention.
Ajom conveyed his Community's gratitude to government, noting that the promise to revalue the hospital was a sign of good things to come, which he stressed, would give the people a sense of belonging, having government presence at the grassroots.
The Eso-Bendeghe General Hospital, situated in a vast portion of land, properly designed with all hospital features, has all the trappings to cater to the health demands of the people of Eso-Bendeghe and other neighbouring communities in Boki.
