"Be Focused, Steadfast, As Party Faces Difficult Moments - Donald Duke Tells PDP Zonal Delegates

A Former Governor of Cross River state, Mr Donald Duke has adviced members of the Peoples' Democratic party (PDP) to remain focused and steadfast in the face of difficult times.
Duke who was speaking at the Transcorp Hotel, Calabar, venue of the South South Zonal Congress of the PDP, Cross River state noted that "Though it's a difficult time for the Party, we can rise above it."
"I want to employ us to be focused and steadfast, there is no amount of struggle we cannot surmount."
He congratulated the new Zonal Executive for coming onboard a second time as well as the PDP Zonal leadership for conducting the election.
In a motion to officially dissolve the former Zonal Working Committee, a one time Senator, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Professor Sandy Onor observes, "... from the faces here, you will know that PDP is still one."
Onor justified the fact that the Chief Dan Orbih led Executive has performed creditably well, hence the need for the confirmation for their re - election.
Earlier, Chairman of the four member Electoral Body, Chief Vita Abba had explained that most of the members of the out - going Zonal Working Committee were returned unopposed but he was compelled to continue with the election process to ensure due democratic process.
Former Zonal Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Ose Orbih was re elected alongside nine others and six Ex officio members.
The well attended PDP Zonal Congress which was almost marred by Court injunctions attracted Party Chieftains, BOT members, former Governors, National Assembly members across the six states of the South South region.
